It is with great pleasure that we announce that Brian S. Ahern has agreed to come on board with the MFMP. He has a wide array of patents baring his name which is testament to the kind of deep experience and insight he can offer as we move forward. Most notably, it could be argued that he has his name on the first US patent awarded for Condensed Matter Nuclear Science related to this field, the priority date for which is - May 2, 1996 and is entitled "Method of maximizing anharmonic oscillations in deuterated alloys".

Dr. Ahern was investigating the effects of Hydrogen and Deuterium in Palladium even before the Pons and Fleischmann announcement and he is passionate about nano materials in the "magic" 3-12 nm range as highlighted by the highly decorated Japanese scientist Arata. He understands and has shown that materials simply don't behave at this scale as they do at anything larger and this may be critical to understand what is going on, it might also explain the lack of interesting data we had with our 40nm Ni powders last year. He is also passionate about the effect of magnetism, something he believes and others have demonstrated, is key to igniting the New Fire.

Brian took time out the other day, to discuss with MFMP member Bob Greenyer, a little of his history and his extensive experience he has had. For those that follow this space closely, there is some familiar ground there for the uninitiated, but there is so much more. We don't want to colour your thinking on the video contents before we get into discussions about it, but there are things that will make you go aha!, others that might shock you - We have had to watch it through a few times to get everything that was discussed. What comes over is the genuine strength and broad capability that Dr. Brian S. Ahern can bring to our collective effort. It has sent our minds racing and we hope it does yours so, please, as ever, make comments or suggestions below and if you have any questions you want us to ask Brian, maybe we can do a follow up video for us all.
