I was amazed when I stumbled onto this one, I remember years ago Jameco had this and for some reason it came up when I was writing about LENR fuel rods.

Today there was an article on LENR-cold fusion site regarding titanium used as a metal to research, I thought right away about the NITINOL and after deep research found some very interesting properties about the metal wire. I am starting
with the NITINOL, it is available and will not sag in the fuel chamber. I would think someone is trying it out in their LENR reactor other than us. I will keep you posted on it's performance.

Since you are pretty much the king of the universal LENR reactor on the web, you probably already know this.

Horace Heffner, reported back in 2009 that Nitinol is subject to hydrogen embrittlement. He goes on to link to a site that recommends that ion-implantation ( I image a fairly expensive process) of the surface with platinum can alleviate the problem.

James, thanks for taking the time to comment, it may come to pass that we will find out these may or may not work, I simply needed to get ahold of some type of wire to begin experimenting. I only spent the time in design and working with the physicists and other people to come up with a starting point, it's either talk about it or do it. What was lacking is the means and so I did not care one bit about the Rossi claims if they were or were not true, I wanted to provide others with the tool to experiment LENR and the others on the team also are working towards that goal.

It's all about learning, I was hoping to get ahold of the ISOTAN but no reply from Celani, but I didn't e-mail him I don't know his e-mail. It would be cool though to get some because the Universal Reactor does not require insulation in the fuel ring, the wires are held securely and adjusted for tightness. Also with the 316L it can handle 15k psi hydrogen. I am anxious to let some testing organization test it for themselves.

We stopped in at the machinists today and expect to have some pics next week of the parts but I am not holding my breath, a 5 hour drive and an all day trip here.

Bob we felt that also however it's the deltaP inside the chamber that causes liberation of energy. Like the battery voltage and current in your cars electrical system. Once the loading has been completed, ( and there is no reason not to load and or cause fissures inside the actual chamber of the reactor) it seems that the pressure differentials allow elements to move and or change.

For example to load in a specific amount of hydrogen into a metal lattice a certain pressure has to be maintained for a specific amount in time. After the loading and placement into the fusion chamber the pressure loads more and a sponge effect releases back when the pressure goes low.

The interesting part on your system is the hydrogen pressure regulator, I have not got an answer yet on the requirement of a flow of hydrogen gas, especially at the low bar reading you have noted.

The question I would appreciate answered is how do you make up the vented hydrogen? Is there a flow of hydrogen through the reactor chamber in your model?
