To get students on the right track, one of the most important thing to do would be to understand if their method of learning is guided by how to use grammar. Tutors and teachers in different disciplines worldwide have different ways of guiding students where they can layout their teaching. Keep in mind that the way you interpret information and expound on it could be different from when you were in the classroom. For instance, some professors may give us background information on some of the things they liked about a specific country, and then stick by it. Even though this is possible, there is a difference between using American English as a teacher and British English as a student.

If it is not British English, there are a few pointers that can guide you very well. One of the ways to tell that you are following the correct path is to look at the similarities.
