Welcome

The Martin Fleischmann Memorial Project is a group dedicated to researching Low Energy Nuclear Reactions (often referred to as LENR) while sharing all procedures, data, and results openly online. We rely on comments from online contributors to aid us in developing our experiments and contemplating the results. We invite everyone to participate in our discussions, which take place in the comments of our experiment posts. These links can be seen along the right-hand side of this page. Please browse around and give us your feedback. We look forward to seeing you around Quantum Heat.

Join us and become part of the project. Become one of the active commenters, who question our work and suggest next steps.

Or, if you are an experimenter, talk to us about becoming an affiliated lab and doing your work in a Live Open Science manner.

I look forward to donating to this project, which I think is highly exciting and long overdue. I would like to know if this project is set up as a charity vis. a vis. the tax laws. I will make a donation in any case, but it would be more substantial if the U. S. treasury kicks in a bit. If it is not so, then may I suggest an effort to create a team to support the effort in the area of fund raising and financial management. Think big! Having qualified people create a proper financial design, and begin the process of reaching out for no-strings grants and corporate sponsors would allow for a far more powerful effort over time.

Thank you! :)

Hi Driznak,

Thankyou for your kind offer. We are set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in the UK - that is a non profit entity and the Facilitators can not draw dividends from it. If QuantumHeat CIC was to fail - the assets and any cash would go to the world wide charity Save the Children.

We wish to try and raise funds imminently on a crowd funding platform such as Kickstarter - and we will be doing that very soon. Because our preferred crowd funding method, Kickstarter, specifically does not permit charities to run campaigns we had to set the project up as a CIC. This process has taken some time. In order to run the campaign, we had to first

1. set up an entity that would qualify for KS funding
2. get to a point in our experiments where we were pretty damn sure we could deliver

KS does not like open ended projects where there is little chance of delivering on the projects goals.

We have nearly concluded the CIC formation and with respect to the likelihood of successful project delivery, we have twice replicated loading of Celani wire and have had reasonably good indications that we have seen demonstrable excess heat over an extended period during the EU cell run. There are many open issues which we are working hard to address - and this was precisely the purpose of the initial internal replications. Having said that, given our potential success and the fact that ST Microelectronics and at least one other respected authority known to us has seen excess in Celani wires, we are pretty sure we will get this right given funding and time - so we are confident to move forward with the Kickstarter.

Kickstarter is only activated if a target to be raised is exceeded, we believe we would need upwards of $300 - $500k to properly achieve the multiple international replications including logistics, legal aspects, high profile live streaming of the experiment installations and runs and media exposure. However if we set a target of $400,000 and got $370,000 we would not get the $370,000. If however we set a target of $100,000 and got any more than $100,000 then we would receive that minus the costs of the rewards and 9% in Amazon/Kickstarter fees. We would then cut our cloth to suit our budget.

We have been advised by the top scientists in this field that a minimum of 3 exactly the same independent experiments are required to achieve our primary goal and we would have to do that, but we would prefer to do 5 or more.

We would love corporate sponsors to sponsor each countries cell for instance, this is something we have discussed internally - this will be more likely if we can prove first that we can repeatedly make a configuration work.

The best way to donate now is Paypal direct on this site. If you accept the low PP charges we get 100% of the amount donated and we have made every penny go a long way. After the Kickstarter, there will be items for sale on the site and opportunities for sponsorship that will give people many more ways to contribute.

We would love to have a team to promote the project - is that something you are capable of? I guess the best way in the interim is to gear everyone up to shout it out loud when the Kickstarter is in full swing. 50,000 giving $10 would meet our goal comfortably.

Thanks again for your interest in the MFMP.

Regards

Bob

I have not donated to the project (yet) because the openness of your experimental data is not been matched by a comparable openness about our group as a whole.

That's not to say that you haven't taken some steps towards organizational openness. I was pleased to see that you are set up as a CIC (although a scientific charity would be more compelling for fundraising purposes) and that you have posted your expenses to date online. Excellent start.

But two key items are currently not available to potential donors:

1) Who controls the legal entity? Is it an outside board? (There should be. Without one,
any sophisticated donor will be concerned about conflicts of interest.)
2) What rules control the legal entity? Are there by-laws?

Also, I suggest you post your financial/organizational data (e.g. incorporation documents, bank statements with prudent redactions, etc) online just as you do your raw experimental data.

Right now the disparity between your science and your finances is quite striking. My guess is that there are other folks like me who are reluctant to write a check without knowing more about
the entity to which we are writing it.

Dan Nachbar
