Details of Experiment Posted

Geschrieben von Ryan Hunt am .

In the spirit of making this replication experiment and process as transparent as the apparatus is, we have just posted many, many details of the cell design and the experiment.  You can find it under the Replication menu under Initial Replication Experiment.  Curious minds will be able to find details like the 3D solid model of the apparatus, the sensor positions, the wiring diagram, parts list, calibration plan and data, and eventual links to live data.  Enjoy.

Last night durning the calibration, at maximum power, I measured the Lexan shield to be 43C. I also measured the base plate to be 32C. The baseplate was cool to the touch everywhere I could reach with my hand. Here are a few pictures that were taken with a thermal camera. I also used a multimeter with thermocouple attachments to check the temperatures.

If possible, manual measurements at the end of 12h calibration cycle would be good. Thank you in advance.

Thanks. We are not planning on measuring the shield and base plate temperatures for this experiment. I expect that there will be many derivations of this experiment to be made by many investigators later.
We can take some manual measurements with a IR temperature gun and note them if you are interested. Just let me know what you would like us to sample.

A very detailed description and a very open way to share information and results, congratulations.
I am looking forward to download next calibration data.
To have a complete overview of possible heat exchanges and transfers, have you planned to measure also PC shield and Al base plate temperatures?
